We are so excited that we have been able to provide fabulous wedding accommodation for more than a dozen bridal groups in the last year (and you should see the photos!), with another 6 bookings already for the next 12 months!
So, in order to cater to our burgeoning wedding accommodation speciality, we’ve done some research and come up with a Bridesmaid Survival Kit!
We do so love a conscientious bridesmaid who does her best for their bride on their special day. So, if you are lucky enough to be asked to support your friend, sibling or other family member, it truly is an honour and something that is to be treasured. To make it the best day ever, here’s some things you can bring with you on the day to support your bride.
For the tears, spills and spots. Tissues are always handy and the little pocket packs are a great addition to any bridesmaid survival kit.
2. Water bottles – with straws
Whether the weather is warm, cold or in between, make sure you have plenty of water to keep everyone hydrated and pack some straws for easy drinking (and no lippy smudge).
3. Flats anyone?
When the ceremony ends, kick off the shoes that are starting to leave pretty little blisters all over your toes and pop on a pair of stylish and comfy flats. You’ll have more fun flirting with the dance floor this way.
4. Charged up
There is of course many social media etiquette tips for weddings, but have your phone charged and ready to go should there be any last minute calls to make, details to check, arrangements to finalise or photos to take!
5. Band Aids
No survival kit is complete without them. Particularly if the shoes are new and not warn in. Having said that the old wives trick of a little soap rubbed onto the inside top of the shoe can ward off heel blisters too.
6. Pictures of hair and makeup suggestions
Don’t forget to take photos at any hair rehearsal so the styles can be replicated on the wedding day. If you haven’t had a hair/makeup rehearsal, bring with you your bride’s photos/clippings to ensure your style matches your wishes.
7. An extension cord and a power board
You would be amazed at how much needs to be plugged in – from mobile phones to curling irons to hair dryers.
8. Your own beauty kit
For your touch ups as the day goes on.
9. A few little snacks
Make them mouthful size, easy to eat and catering to all dietary requirements. People really do forget to eat – particularly if the wedding is later in the day – and there is nothing worse than a rumbling tummy in the middle of a ceremony. Be that person who has thought of everything!
10. Your happy place
This will be the most exciting, important day of your bride’s life and its up to you to set the mood! Bring your happy place and know that every problem can be solved and every smile will make your and your bride’s day that much brighter. If you wake up with a smile, your day will follow suit!
So, there are our Wedding Day Bridesmaid’s Survival Tip ideas. If you have any other ideas, please feel free to email us at email@example.com and we will add it to a blog post into the future! Either that or add the info in via our guest book. If you do stay with us, don’t forget that our guest book allows you to add photos in as well – we’d love to share them!
